Gorgeous Fall Engagement Session: Fort Tryon Park, NYC

December 17, 2014

A few weeks ago I met up with Madeleine and Eamon for their fall engagement session at Fort Tryon Park, NYC. I had never been there before as it is about an hour train ride from my apartment in Brooklyn. It was a chilly afternoon. One of those fall days where you know winter is coming and you’re holding onto every last bit of fall that you can. Although it was bitter cold it was so worth it.

Engagement sessions are a lot of fun for so many reasons. As a couple, you get to take some time from the wedding planning and just be together. I think its the perfect break that you need sometimes. Another great reason to do an engagement session is that you will be familiar with all the “poses” that I will use on your wedding day. You’ll realize that I’m not really posing you but just guiding you and making you feel as comfortable as possible. You’ll be more relaxed, there won’t be any rushing and you can really take a breath and just enjoy each other. I also really love getting to know each couple that I photograph and this is the perfect time to do so. After you’ve done an engagement session the wedding day will be so easy when we start portraits. You’ll know what to expect and what your photographs will look like. You will be so much more relaxed.

I think we achieved our goal of gorgeous fall foliage, warm light and a sweet moment between these two. What do you think?
